Others: The Casey House Short Horror Film to Smash Stigma

Fear fuels HIV stigma. We created this short film so audiences would get a feeling for the impacts of stigma that people living with HIV face every day. The film stars an actor living with HIV who we discovered after a global casting call and was guided from start to finish with the help of people living with HIV and their experiences.


Premiere Event

To launch the film, we hosted a premiere experience October 26th and 27th at Ontario Place where audiences could be taken through a series of events that echo the stigmatising experiences shown in the film.

So far, this film has received local and global attention from a variety of media outlets and at time of writing is still picking up steam.

Mini Documentaries

SPOILER ALERT: Our film ends with real people sharing their stories of life facing HIV stigma. But the real life stories didn't end there. We created six interview films where each spoke about their experiences and the type of fear that stigma plays into in their life. From the fear of disclosing to the fear of who to trust and how stigma itself comes from fear, these stories help give further insight to what it's like to live facing HIV stigma every day.
